Successful finish of sponsored project ‘Old Sites – New Energy’

In terms of today’s press conference in Erfurt, results of project ‘Old Sites – New Energy’ were presented to public by environment minister Reinholz.
The project ‘Energetic re-use of fallow, ecologically affected sites in rural space of Thuringia’, briefly: ‘Old Sites – New Energy’ is a project sponsored by Thuringian Ministry of Agriculture, Forests, Environment and Conservation. In association of alliance partners JENA-GEOS®, FH Nordhausen and BIG Prof. Burmeier Ingenieurgesellschaft a guide and a software-tool were developed, which can analyze options of energetic re-use for former operationally used brownfields.
In this way, actors like communes and administrative districts also like site owners, investors and otherwise interested parties are given an effective management-tool for supporting preliminary decisions of renewable energies as an alternative type of use. Thereby, sustainable and efficient re-uses can be revealed for those sites, which often don’t have any chances for revitalization, apparently.
Software-tool and guide are provided for free use on the webpages of TMLFUN: www.thueringen.de/de/.
